Cerakote & Coating Removal for Firearm Components

Ship your firearm components in for precision laser cleaning, coating removal, corrosion removal, and refinishing preparation

What is firearm laser cleaning

Aerospace Laser Cleaning is a veteran-owned laser cleaning job shop on the I-25 corridor in Monument, working with fabricators, machine shops, coaters and restorers in Colorado Springs, Castle Rock, Peyton, Falcon, Fountain and the wider Colorado Front Range. Parts come in, are cleaned in our shop, inspected and documented, and go back.

Gun refinishing services using precision laser cleaning provide a non-abrasive method for removing coatings, corrosion, and surface contamination from firearm components. This process restores components without damaging the underlying material, making it suitable for slides, receivers, and critical firearm parts where tolerances and surface integrity are essential.

Ship your firearm components in. We clean them in our Colorado shop, inspect and document the work, and ship the components back.

Applications

Laser cleaning for firearms is used in a range of refinishing and restoration applications:

  • Removal of Cerakote and other firearm coatings
  • Gun refinishing and surface restoration
  • Cleaning slides, receivers, and small components
  • Corrosion and oxidation removal
  • Surface preparation prior to re-coating or finishing

Benefits of gun refinishing with laser cleaning

  • Non-abrasive and non-contact process
  • Removes Cerakote, coatings, and corrosion while preserving the substrate
  • Preserves tight tolerances and surface integrity
  • No chemicals or blasting media required
  • High precision and repeatable results

Compatible materials

  • Carbon steel
  • Stainless steel
  • Aluminum firearm components
  • Treated and coated metal surfaces
  • Precision-machined firearm parts

Results

Laser cleaning for gun refinishing removes the coating or contamination layer while leaving the base material unchanged. Surfaces are left clean, uniform, and ready for refinishing, coating, or inspection.

Our process

Firearm components are shipped in, cleaned in our shop, inspected and documented, then shipped back.

  1. Evaluation of firearm component and coating type
  2. Laser parameter setup based on material and finish
  3. Controlled laser cleaning process
  4. Final inspection for surface quality and consistency
