Steel, stainless, cast iron, aluminum and titanium are routine. Copper alloys, nickel alloys and some coated or plated finishes are assessed case by case. Thin foils, certain anodized and plated surfaces, most plastics and many composites are either unsuitable or need a test area first — we confirm before committing.
The process targets the contaminant layer, not the parent metal, so it is dimensionally gentle compared with abrasive blasting. Parameters are set for the specific material and coating, and on sensitive parts we validate on a test area before running the whole job.
Typically you get a clean, uniform matte surface. Appearance depends on the substrate, what was on it and how deep the corrosion went — deep pitting that existed before cleaning is still there afterwards, because cleaning is not filling. We tell you what to expect for your part.
Anything where the energy would damage what you want to keep: very thin sheet and foil, some plated or anodized finishes you want preserved, delicate plastics and composites, and parts with contamination we cannot safely handle. Heavily built-up scale over large areas is often better started in a blast cabinet.
It depends on part count, coverage area and how heavy the contamination is, plus current shop load. We give you an estimated scheduling window with your quote. We deliberately do not publish turnaround times, because a number that is true for one job is misleading for another.
There is no price list on this site. Scope, material, coverage area, quantity and condition drive the cost, so a person reviews your request and quotes it. The request form produces a request — not a quote and not an order.
No. Aerospace Laser Cleaning is an in-shop job shop: parts come to us and go back out. Parts are shipped in and returned by shipment. We do not perform on-site or mobile cleaning.
Work is performed in a controlled shop setup with fume extraction and filtration at the source, and removed material is captured rather than washed away. If a coating or residue on your part is hazardous, send the safety data sheet with your request so we can plan handling properly.
Tell us on the request form — there is a specific question for it. Safety-critical parts are flagged at intake, and we confirm process limits, handling and acceptance criteria with you in writing before any work starts. If your requirement exceeds what we can document, we will say so.
We are an SBA-certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business with an active SAM.gov registration and a CAGE code, published in the capability block on our contact page. We hold no process certifications — not AS9100, not Nadcap, not ITAR registration — and we will not imply otherwise to win work. If your part requires a certified process chain, tell us and we will say plainly whether we can support it.
Yes — there is a question for that on the request form. Recorded parameters per part mean repeat lots run the same way. Tell us the expected cadence and lot size and we will talk about scheduling.
The part description, base material, what is on the surface, rough dimensions, quantity, and photos — up to five, and they help more than anything else. Drawings or a coating spec as PDF are welcome. Timeline and whether the part is safety-critical or recurring round it out.
Not without your written approval. The gallery shows our own parts, and customer work appears only when it has been explicitly approved. Controlled or proprietary parts are never published.
Your request is recorded right away under a reference number shown on screen, and that on-screen number is the record — write it down. We also email an acknowledgment restating what you submitted, but treat it as a courtesy copy: if it does not arrive, your request is still held. A person reviews every request and replies from rfq@aerospacelaserclean.com. Nothing in the acknowledgment carries a price or a turnaround commitment.
Still unsure whether your part is a fit? Send photos with a quote request and we will assess it before you ship anything.
Send us the part — we’ll tell you what’s possible.
Six short questions, photos optional. A person reads every request and replies from rfq@aerospacelaserclean.com.
