Aerospace Component Cleaning & Coating Removal

Laser cleaning for aerospace components where surface integrity and controlled removal are critical

What is aerospace laser cleaning

Aerospace Laser Cleaning is a veteran-owned laser cleaning job shop on the I-25 corridor in Monument, working with fabricators, machine shops, coaters and restorers in Colorado Springs, Castle Rock, Peyton, Falcon, Fountain and the wider Colorado Front Range. Parts come in, are cleaned in our shop, inspected and documented, and go back.

Aerospace laser cleaning is a precision cleaning process used to remove coatings, oxides, contaminants, and residues from aerospace components without damaging the underlying material. This method is ideal for high-value parts where tight tolerances and surface integrity are critical.

Laser cleaning for aerospace uses a high-intensity laser beam to remove surface contaminants such as coatings, corrosion, and residues from aircraft components. The process is calibrated to target the unwanted layer while preserving the base material and critical tolerances.

Applications

Aerospace laser cleaning is used for:

  • Aircraft component maintenance and refurbishment
  • Removal of coatings, primers, and sealants
  • Oxide and corrosion removal on precision parts
  • Surface preparation for bonding and recoating
  • Cleaning of sensitive assemblies and components

Benefits of aerospace laser cleaning

  • Non-abrasive and non-contact process
  • No chemicals or blasting media required
  • Preserves tight tolerances and surface integrity
  • High precision and repeatable results
  • Minimal waste and contamination
  • Suitable for sensitive and high-value components

Compatible materials

  • Aluminum
  • Titanium
  • Stainless steel
  • Aerospace alloys
  • Composite-adjacent surfaces in controlled applications

Results

Aerospace laser cleaning delivers controlled, uniform results by removing the contamination layer while preserving the base material. Components are left clean, consistent, and ready for inspection, coating, or assembly.

Our process

Parts ship in, are cleaned in our Colorado shop, inspected, documented, and shipped back.

  1. Evaluation of component material and condition
  2. Parameter setup for aerospace application
  3. Controlled laser cleaning process
  4. Final inspection and quality verification
